Recently I have found myself neglecting my awesome Xbox360 and reverting back to the Playstation 2 to play Final Fantasy X, amazing game should all try it. This got me thinking; how many games that are 'next gen' today will we actively seek out and go back to play or recommend when we move to the next generation of consoles.

A little example I love gears one and two but would I go back and play them when the Xbox 'what ever' is out ?

Games created today are designed to have re-playable content but how far does this go?

I was having a convosation with Ryan (@blacksta2) were discussing Matrix and Grand Theft Autos series and a lot of these games completely own their predecessors that are created today.

I guess this has to do with the shire amount of time it takes to create games; the unique features are leaked or mimicked, sometimes even out done. The story and plot lines (I'm sorry a lot of people will disagree but I think these are crucial in a game) can be leaked over the internet through various forums and blogs. Perhaps the worst out of the issues I've listed is the hype factor, we all know that the more a game is hyped the higher the chance the game will be an ultimate fail... Haze ring any bells?

I hope to see more games with this re-playable content *cough halo wars* come out on our current consoles along with more classics coming back to XBLM and PSN.

Abbreviation when it's not necessary :@ The only time I will use
abbreviation is if my characters are limited (such as on twitter).
Half the time I will receive a message and can't understand a work or
even worse are people that actually change the spelling of a word even
if it is the same amount of letter there is simply no excuse.

This is what I meant by geeky a couple of nights ago inspired somehow
by the oncoming release of halo wars, we decided to break out the old
board game risk (could of been worse could of been dungeons and
dragons tho we all agreed we would try that too). The game
surprisingly was fantastic fun and got ridiculously competitive the
only irritation was the constant rolling of the dice after we had
formed massive armies. In the pic I was actually trying to make a
dignified last stand but my some sheer luck and a friends suicidal
strikes against my main rival I somehow won :D and feel very geeky
about doing so. But deep down in places you don't talk about at
parties you know you want to try this game too

Firstly I would like to point out I love my ps3, however....
For the second time I have tried to perform a game update only for it
to take 3 hours (yes people 3 hours) on 16mb Internet (clearly limited
by the ps3 somehow) only for it to reach 98% and perform an error.
Sony have piled money into home and other projects, yeah great have
they actually sat there and waited for it to download? The only thing
I will ever admit to the xbox 360 having superiority of the ps3 is in
download speeds.
This would all be fine if I could update via USB like you can with
firmware but no instead I must stare at a blank screen with a static
download bar. It isn't even possible to perform a background download.
I'm sure there is a reason for the ridiculously slow download speeds
but when I forked out 400£ for my ps3 I'd have liked a little heads up.
I'm considering a divorce

Spent most of the night at "The tun" in Coventry city centre nice bar
with live music soft acoustic rock downstairs with the heavier stuff
above. Went to see "jess and Han" who are close friends and perform
regularly. They are well worth checking out as all the music is their
own and they have a great sound. I will hoepfully be posting lots of
there dates on here and Links to their myspace etc
